RUMFORD - Albert Wilfred Choate, 85, a resident of Rumford Community Home, passed away in his sleep on Nov. 2, 2013.
He formerly resided in Harwinton, Conn. Albert was born in Fayette, Maine, on April 20, 1928, to Harris Harold Choate Sr. and Inez (Russell) Choate.
He attended schools in Fayette and Kents Hill. Albert was active in the Navy during World War II.
His hobbies included restoring old vehicles, boating, riding his motorcycles, traveling, leaf peeping and residing in the home he himself built.
He worked for Pratt & Whitney, New Departure, and he retired from GH Russell Co., all located in Connecticut.
Albert was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Wilbur, Russell, Lloyd, Harris Harold Jr. and Herbert; and his sisters, Hilda, Winnefred, Glenora, Pauline and Dorothy. He is survived by his sister, Virginia Nottage, of Nevada; several nieces and nephews; and his three godsons, David and Connie Gagnon, Chris and Lori Gagnon, and Scott and Lisa Gagnon.

There will be a committal service at 10 a.m. Friday, June 13, at the new Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery on Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
