RANDOLPH - Keith L. Damon, 80, died peacefully with his family by his side at the Maine Veterans' Home on Sunday, May 4, 2014.
Keith was born in Stetson on May 5, 1933. He attended high school at Higgins Classical Institute and graduated in 1952. Upon graduation, Keith served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1953 to 1957. Throughout his life Keith worked as a machine tender for S.D. Warren paper mill, and also drove truck for several different companies including Brewer's Dairy and Williams Construction.
Keith was a hardworking man who provided for his family his whole life with a smile on his face. During his free time he enjoyed gardening, planting his flowers, taking trips to the coast of Maine and New Hampshire and most of all, spending time with his wife, children and grandkids.
Keith was predeceased by his mother and father, Phyllis and Lester Damon; his brother, Paul Damon; and two sons, Kennard and Scott Damon.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lucille Damon; his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Randy Thibeau; his son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Kathy Damon; his grandchildren, Meagan, Mariah and Tyler Damon, and Shelby, Hayley and Kelsi Thibeau; and one great-grandson, Maxwell Trussell. Keith also leaves behind his very best buddy "Sir Winslow," the Dachshund, who was his pride and joy.
There will be public visiting hours from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Staples Funeral Home in Gardiner. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society in Augusta.
