RICHMOND - Suzanna L. Christie, 66, of Main Street, passed away on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born on Oct. 7, 1947, in Lewiston, the daughter of Charles and Clarice Irby Sr. Sue grew up and attended school in Winthrop.
Sue worked for Port City of Richmond as a teller for many years.
Sue enjoyed knitting, craft fairs and raising money for breast cancer through the Eagles Club.
Sue was predeceased by her parents; sister Pamela Lanteigne; and a nephew, Scott Tainter. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, John Christie, of Richmond; sister Sherry Stevens and significant other Barry Wright, of Livermore Falls; brother Charles Irby, of Augusta; sons Jim Wadleigh, of Connecticut, George Wadleigh, of Arizona, and Dan Wadleigh, of Colorado; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20 at Kincer Funeral Home, with a gathering to follow at the Gardiner Eagles Club. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road.
The family would like to thank the Hospice representatives for the wonderful care they provided during Sue's illness.
