AUGUSTA -- Doreen Mary Markham, 57, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta.She was born in Rumford on Dec. 1, 1953, the daughter of Mark and Cecile (Touchette) Duguay.
Doreen graduated from Mexico High School, class of 1972, and married Frederick Markham on Dec. 2, 1977.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and loved her cats, Garfield and Mokey, and her dog, Star. Doreen's greatest joy, however, was helping raise her oldest grandson, Nicholas, and spending time with him and her youngest grandson, Zach.
Doreen is survived by her husband of over 33 years, Fred Markham, of Augusta; her son, Andrew Markham and his wife, Lori, of Gardiner; her daughter Kelly Markham, of Augusta; three brothers, Ted Duguay, Larry Duguay, and David Duguay and his wife, Tammy, of Windsor; and her two grandchildren, Nicholas and Zach.
A memorial celebration of Doreen's life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta, with the Rev. Kevin Martin celebrant.
