SOUTH GARDINER - Daniel DeForest Truman, 45, of South Gardiner, son of Robert and Marie (Mansir) Truman, of South Gardiner, passed away after a brief illness on April 22, 2014, at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta.
Dan graduated from Gardiner High School, class of 1987. He was employed by the state of Maine with the Department of Health and Human Services for 24 years. He was looking forward to his completing his CDL class so he could pursue his greatest passion traveling the country. Of the many places he traveled in the world, his favorite places to go were New York City where he and Deedee married on Feb. 14, 2012, the many trips to Disney World in Florida with his children and Hawaii, where he looked forward to moving to one day. He especially enjoyed bowling with his dad.
On Dec. 8, 1990, Dan married his high school sweetheart Angeline Pelletier. Together they have three sons, Cody Truman, of South Gardiner, and Josh and Zach Truman, both of Farmingdale.
Survivors include his father, Robert Truman, of South Gardiner; his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Ann Truman, of Augusta; sister and brother-in-law Jacqueline and Larry Gove, of Pittston; his former wife, Angel Truman, and their three children, Cody Truman, of South Gardiner, Josh and Zach Truman, both of Farmingdale; and his wife, Deedee Dawson; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no public services or public viewing.
Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.
