LITCHFIELD -- Carol Ann Turner, 62, passed away peacefully at her home in Litchfield on Saturday, June 23, after a long illness.
Carol was born on Nov. 23, 1949, to Marie and Everett Small, who predeceased her. She resided for many years with her long-time partner Jim Turner and her beloved cat, Buddy in Litchfield. Carol is survived by her favorite sister, Debbie Guild; brother-in-law Keith; niece Kelly; and grandnephews Liam and Gavin.
She is remembered fondly as an avid gardener, landscaper, homemaker, boater, fisherwoman, artist and photographer. Carol revered nature, and was never happier than when she was camping, boating or fishing with her family. A clever craftswoman, Carol built raised gardens, furniture, bird feeders and a boathouse.
Adventurous and curious, Carol enjoyed travel, restaurants, movies and music, and had recently begun studying the guitar. She was famous for making the holidays warm and welcome for her loved ones with creative cards, gifts and her wonderful comfort food.
Carol's network of extended family and friends will deeply miss this loving, caring and giving woman. She will be remembered forever with love and gratitude for having known her.
At her request, no services will be held. However, contributions honoring Carol's memory can be made to PALS Cat Shelter at 188 Case Road, East Winthrop, ME 04364.
